At IBT our Commercial Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning program (HVAC) provides students the skills and techniques to begin their career in the HVAC field. Graduates in the HVAC program will have the skills to install, service, and repair both residential and commercial air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration systems and maintain EPA regulations when troubleshooting and repairing residential and commercial equipment… IBT students enrolled in this program will be comfortable working with temperature control systems, air quality systems, and humidity and refrigeration. Students will also be qualified to work in both the private industry and major commercial companies such as hospitals, hotels, office buildings, or manufacturers.
Graduates of IBT’s program will be able to troubleshoot and repair the mechanical and electrical components of residential and commercial equipment. They will also be capable of replacing residential and commercial condensing units, compressors, and evaporator fan motors. With the hands-on training IBT provides, students will learn how to install and repair residential and commercial gas heating systems. Lastly, students will be prepared to service and repair ice machines, walk-in coolers and freezers, and reach-ins.
